Kenzan
Kenzan
Floral foam? We don’t know her. Meet the Niwaki Kenzan—the heavy-duty, endlessly reusable, slightly intimidating secret to floral arrangements that actually stay where you put them.
Born from the Japanese art of Ikebana, these ‘Flower Frogs’ are for those of us who find genuine joy in the precise angle of a single dahlia. It’s a bed of sharp brass pins on a weighted lead base, designed to anchor your stems with obsessive precision. No more propping, no more sagging, just pure, sculptural intent.
The pins are sturdy enough for stubborn woody twigs and kind enough for delicate soft stalks. For the particularly thick stems in your life, try a quick criss-cross cut at the bottom before insertion—it makes the whole process much more civilised. Just drop it into your favourite vase or a shallow saucer, submerge in water, and begin your masterpiece.
Made in Japan by Niwaki, each Kenzan includes a rubber base to keep things stable and protect your vessels. Because while we love a bit of drama in the arrangement, we’re not fans of scratches on the sideboard.
