To get things ticking (metaphorically), find a sunny, shadow-free spot. Position it with the lowest point of the Gnomon—the indicator—pointing North. At the stroke of midday, wait for the sun to do its thing and turn the dial so the shadow sits perfectly on XII. There. You’re now officially synced with the cosmos.
