Crafted with a full tang construction (meaning the steel runs the full length of the handle for maximum strength) and a solid beech wood handle, it has that ‘built for the long haul’ feel. Caring for your Hori Hori:
Japanese steel is sharp, hard, and deserves a little respect. To keep it in peak condition, avoid the ‘don’ts’: no wire, metal, or stone. When you're cutting through heavier roots, use the base of the blade rather than the tip, and try to cut diagonally across fibres.

The ritual of maintenance is half the fun. Clean off the garden gunk and resin with a Crean Mate and water, dry it thoroughly, and finish with a wipe of Camellia Oil. Sharpen when needed, and it will likely outlast your favourite pair of gloves.
