Nisaku Flax Cutter
Nisaku Flax Cutter
Flax, cabbage trees and yuccas: the architectural backbone of the Kiwi backyard, and the reason your good secateurs are blunt. Beautiful, hardy, and completely unbothered by anything less than the right blade.
The Nisaku Flax Cutter is that blade. Japanese stainless steel, tempered for the long haul, with a reinforced back bar that keeps the spine rigid when you are three hours into a cabbage tree and running out of patience. Stainless means less fuss about rust, which forgives the sort of storage habits you would rather not discuss.
At 100g it is almost weightless in the hand. The serrated teeth are cut for the pull stroke, the one that glides through fibrous leaf instead of tearing at it.
A note for the enthusiasts: this is a precision instrument, not a wood saw. Keep it to the fibrous greenery it was born for and it will stay in your kit for years.
Made in Japan.
