Pruner 60
Pruner 60
Light on the wrist, heavy on the heritage.
At a mere 170g, the Kamaki Pruner 60 is the antidote to the heavy-handed, clunky shears of old. Don’t let the weight fool you, though—this is a professional-standard tool designed for the precision of bonsai, the delicacy of flower arranging, and the rigours of general pruning. It’s the kind of tool that makes you look for extra things to trim just for the sake of using it.
Forged from high carbon steel and finished with a hard chrome coating, these blades are practically allergic to rust and sap. They’re sharp, they stay sharp, and they glide through stems with a satisfying, clean bypass action. The handle, crafted from non-slip nylon resin, is finished in a bright, unapologetic red. Why? Because we’ve all spent a frustrating twenty minutes scouting the garden for the tool we just set down in the mulch. Not today.
These aren't just any pruners. They come from Hyogo, Japan, crafted by makers who have been perfecting the art since 1876. That’s nearly 150 years of obsessing over steel edges and tension springs—and it shows in every snip.
Proudly made in Japan.
The Insider’s Guide to Longevity:
- Stick to the Greenery: Japanese steel is hard and sharp, but it hates wire, stone, or plastic. Keep it strictly botanical to avoid chips.
- Cut with Care: Cut diagonally across branches (never straight across) to work with the fibres. Don't twist the blades or apply uneven pressure.
- Power Play: For heavier cuts, use the base of the blades where you have the most control, rather than the tips.
