Pruning Shear 888
Pruning Shear 888
A professional-standard pruner for those who take their deadheading and shaping seriously. Meet the Kamaki 888.
Crafted in Hyogo, Japan, by a manufacturer that’s been perfecting the art of the edge since 1876, these aren’t just shears—they’re a piece of garden heritage. Forged from high carbon steel and finished with a hard chrome coating, the 888 is built to resist rust, shrug off sap, and hold an edge that stays sharp through the longest of afternoons.
We’ve all been there: the "where did I put my pruners?" hunt. Kamaki has solved this with bright red, ergonomically designed aluminium handles that sit comfortably in the hand and stand out clearly against the mulch. No more losing your best tools to the garden floor.
The high-tension spring provides a satisfyingly smooth rebound force, meaning your hand does less of the work and the tool does more. It’s the kind of effortless opening and closing action that makes a three-hour pruning session feel like a quick stroll through the roses.
Proudly made in Japan.
Rules of Engagement:
Japanese steel is exceptionally hard and sharp, but it has its boundaries. To keep that edge pristine, avoid wire, metal, stone, or plastic. Cut diagonally across branches to follow the fibres, and always use the base of the blades for your heavier work—save the tips for the delicate stuff.
